Femcode Collective runs hands-on build days, hackathons, and workshop sessions for women and non-binary people who want to create with AI — no prior coding experience needed.
Since September 2025, we've run 22 official kickoffs across Helsinki, hosted a Slush week hackathon with 140+ participants, and brought vibe coding to Tokyo in partnership with the Embassy of Finland and Mercari.
Most of the builders who show up have never written a line of code. Most of them ship something by the end of the day.

About
I almost didn't take the community job.
I'd spent five years in People Ops and recruitment — hiring, onboarding, building processes, helping a Finnish company grow from 19 to 50+ people. I was good at it. But I kept gravitating toward the thing no one asked me to do: bringing people together.
I founded a community before "community manager" was a job title I'd considered. By the time the right role opened, I'd already been doing the work for years — not because I'd optimised toward it, but because I'd followed what genuinely lit me up.
That's the thing I keep seeing in other people's careers too. The best moves rarely come from perfect planning. They come from staying curious, putting yourself out there, and being ready when something clicks.
